Chennai 2014 Update Letter

Dearly beloved in Christ,

With grateful heart we acknowledge your continued support through prayers and offerings given for the

Chennai WMFwelfare of destitute children from HIV/AIDS and leprosy affected families. We sincerely hope and pray that you may receive the manifold grace and blessings of the Lord for reaching out to the marginalized in the society.

A promise for you:

“O Taste and See that the Lord is Good: Blessed is the man that trusts in Him.” Psalm: 34.8. This verse is from the psalm of deliverance sung by David wherein he beautifully narrates the mighty deliverance by the Lord. David personally experienced deliverance from very many things that were oppressing him like Fear, shame, troubles and enemies. While listing out the mighty acts of the Lord, the psalmist also extends an invitation to all to come and taste the same goodness of the Lord which he has seen in his life.

Taste & See…

The word of God seems to challenge us to try out and see for our own the goodness of the Lord. In real life, when a new product is introduced, don’t we try it see whether it is what it proposes to be? Often we stop there and fail to convert our daily actions and efforts to our spiritual life which is eternal. Here the psalmist is actually advertising the goodness of the Lord! When we hear of such wonderful deliverance the Lord has done in the lives of others, we fail to claim the same or try in out in our lives. But unlike trying a product which is new in the market, Tasting and seeing the goodness of the Lord involves very intimate relationship with the Lord. This is something that the Lord yearns for his children to experience. So how do we taste the Goodness of God? By just doing what the Psalmist did…

The Goodness of God…

The Goodness, the deliverance, the victory of the Lord are all available for us because of the Cross of Calvary. But we can only claim them through specific acts of faith outlined by the psalmist in this psalm: Seeking the Lord (vs.4), Looking unto the Lord (Vs.5), Crying out to the Lord (Vs.6) and fearing the Lord (Vs.7). Now these specific acts of faith brought about specific deliverance in the life of David: Delivered from all fears (Vs.4), Face brightened, not ashamed (Vs.5), Saved out of all troubles (vs.6), and Deliverance by the angel of the Lord (Vs.7). Because of this great deliverance he experienced, the psalmist is encouraging others too to came and taste this goodness of the Lord.  Today, do not delay any further to carry out these specific acts of faith to see the deliverance of the Lord in your personal life.

Blessed…

There are many verses in the word of God mentioning who is blessed. But here a special mention is made of a person who has taken up the challenge to try out goodness of God. This man or woman who trusts the God is true to his promise and expects in faith to see the goodness of God- is truly blessed indeed! Whatever your life situation may be today, the word of God is encouraging you today to SEEK, LOOK, CRY OUT and FEAR GOD to “see” the goodness of Lord in your life. May you be truly blessed as you trust the Lord to bring about His goodness in your life. God bless you!
