Faith that Humbles

As a business intern here at Word Made Flesh Bolivia (WMFB) I am finding that I am constantly in a state of grace. As a result, I find that the more I think I am giving, the more I am actually receiving, learning, and growing.

Here at Word Made Flesh Bolivia, I work with SutiSana. SutiSana is a holistic business that provides alternative and dignified work for survivors of sex trafficking.

A few weeks ago, Word Made Flesh Bolivia and SutiSana invited several local area churches to join us on a prayer walk around our facility.  Prayer stations were set up for all of the departments here in WMFB.  We had a great turn out and everyone was really moved. As we began to end our evening we decided to take some time to debrief with one another. During our debrief someone shared that one of our SutiSana workers came to the prayer event. She has spent the entire evening in the room with the sewing machines relentlessly praying for each of her co-workers and for the organization.

1 Cor 1:27

“but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the strong.”

Here I was coming in as a business intern, educated and from the West. Yet my faith was lacking and weak, and the faith that I have seen in the SutiSana women has left me humbled.
