What is the Good Giving Challenge?

As you may know, nonprofits in the US raise a growing percentage of their funds on Giving Tuesday. This year we are participating in a campaign along with other local nonprofits to raise funds for the entire week of Giving Tuesday (November 30 – December 6). The event is called the Good Giving Challenge.

We are going to do this fundraiser together with WMF fields.  All of the funds we raise (less our cost to participate) will be divided among participating WMF fields (Brazil, Navajo Nation, Moldova, Romania, Rwanda, and Sierra Leone). Our goal is to raise $15,000.

There will be many opportunities for matching donations and cash prizes. The Good Giving Challenge is an online giving campaign, and donations can be matched up to 50%, provided by various donors and companies through the Bluegrass Community Foundation.

There are several challenges throughout the week, so here’s when to give to further your impact for free!

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30 | 9 A.M. (EST)

INCREASE YOUR GIFT BY 50%

Individual gifts up to $250 are matched 50¢ on $1 (until the $100,000 matching pool is exhausted).

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1 | 9 A.M. (EST)

INCREASE YOUR GIFT BY 100%

Individual gifts up to $50 are matched dollar for dollar (until the $25,000 matching pool is exhausted). The pool is small, so give early!

Also, from 1 pm. -11:59 p.m. individual gifts of any size are matched 50¢ on $1 (until the $15,000 matching pool is exhausted).

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3 | 11 A.M. (EST)

INCREASE YOUR GIFT BY 50%

Individual gifts up to $100 are matched 50¢ on $1 (until the $10,000 matching pool is exhausted).

MONDAY, DECEMBER 6 | 9 P.M. (EST)

INCREASE YOUR GIFT BY 100%

This is late night challenge is your last opportunity to get your gift matched. Individual gifts up to $100 are matched $1 on $1 (until the $25,000 matching pool is exhausted) ending at 11:59 p.m.
