Note from the artist: It can be disconcerting to be alone with our own thoughts for an extended period of time. Most of us are good at finding ways to avoid ourselves and the complexity into which we must plunge if we are to come to see and know who we are. Delving inward in this manner can only occur in solitude where the usual attachments and distractions of life are stripped away.

This is not something we can rush into hastily. But with God’s high fidelity claim on our hearts, Word Made Flesh is pleased to offer a simple instrument that may well slow you up a little. Consider a handmade, reclaimed wood solitude chair. Sit in it, and discover anew just how fully known you are.
