Introducing Ansuman Bangura

Don’t you know that those who work in the temple get there food from the temple and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel. 1 Corinthians 9:13-14

Dear Freinds,

I thank you very much for supporting WMF world wide and especially WMFSL.

I’m delighted to write my first prayer letter to my supporters or donors and those who the Lord has led to support me now and the future.I thank the Lord Jesus who has led me, gave me strength to listen and building intimacy and mutual relationships for each other.

I was born in Kamakwie, Bombali District, Northern Province Sierra Leone. I grew up in a Muslim home. It was in late 1997/1998 when I became a Christian. Nobody talked to me it was the Holy Spirit. The main idea that led me to Christ was observing that my Christian neighbors had a forgiving heart but with my Islamic neighbors it was very uncommon to forgive.

In 2002, I came to settle in Freetown with my uncle, at high school in the Albert Academy, I became a member of the Scripture Union Sierra Leone where I started to preach the Word of God during devotion time.

Furthermore in September 2010, I met WMFSL and started volunteering until February 2012. I graduated from University of Sierra Leone at Fourah Bay College with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Finance with Second Class First Division in March 2012 and I became an intern with WMFSL. I joined WMFSL staff on October 3rd, 2012. As we are called to Jesus among the most vulnerable of the world poor, I am serving as the administrator and tutorial coordinator for the kids and Lighthouse youths.

As the tutoring Coordinator, I am working with thirty-eight kids or youth, spilt between the morning and afternoon shifts. Before tutoring start on daily basis we have a play ground where we interact with them to create more intimacy, love and concern. We eat three times a day that is at 11:30am, 2:30pm and 5:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (and Thursday morning for the older youth. Before tutoring starts, we repeat our four pillars of the Ale Ale house of hope which are BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE TRUSTWORTHY and BE FUN TO BE AROUND. We also have our five minutes strong sitting and centering prayer to bring their minds and hearts together. We teach them mathematics, English, phonetics, stories, spelling, science, social studies etc, The essence of this is to build their capacities and to develop them for the future. I am please to inform you that this has been very productive in their lives because some kids and youth who never been to school before are reading and do some mathematics work very well. I thank the Lord for our tutors grace, patience, love and strength in dealing with the students. It is pleasure and honor to work with the kids from the Kroo Bay community. It is hectic at times but by His grace we are progressing.

As the administrator my task is to ensure that the day to day activities are carried out on daily basis and to ensure the laws are upheld and to maintain proper checks and balances and internal control of WMFSL.

With reference to that, am kindly asking you to remember in your prayer on daily basis on the following:

-For the Lord to give me wisdom, knowledge and understanding to carry out my responsibilities to the best of my ability according to His will.

-To maintain pure and healthy relationship with donors, Kroo Bay community, Lighthouse , WMFSL and WMF world wide.

-It is the policy of WMF when you are a staff, WMF will manage to pay you your salary for the first year and after that I will be paying myself from my support account. My first year started in October 2012 till September 2013. Pray for me and pray about supporting me financially because within this account my salary will be paid on monthly basis along with expenses like travel, administrative, development, medical and processing fees will be covered in this account. You can find different ways to support me by sending your support to www.wordmadeflesh.org/support/give. Please clearly indicate the support is for Ansumana.

-For the kids and youth at Kroo Bay for them to be productive, determined, wise and steady so that they will achieve the goals WMFSL and Jesus is planning for them.

With Love,

Ansumana.

P.S. I am not too worried because those who are called to serve will be provide for as it is written in Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
