Careers with Word Made Flesh

Word Made Flesh staff are committed to living and serving among vulnerable communities, infusing hope and amplifying voices that often go unheard. As you learn about Word Made Flesh on our website, are introduced to us through friends, or read about us in a book, maybe something connects with you. If you see yourself in the ethos, vision, philosophy of ministry, or a position description maybe there is place for you in the Word Made Flesh staff community! We would love to hear from you.

Joining WMF is more than a job. It is a vocation to community life and presence. At the same time, it is also a career in nonprofit leadership, community development, and cross-cultural service. WMF staff grow as advocates, leaders, and practitioners while being spiritually formed through the rhythms of our communities.

Pathways into Staff Life

Most of our long-term staff begin with a season of learning and service before stepping into leadership. We encourage a posture of humility, discernment, and growth.

  • Step 1: Formation & Exposure Discovery Teams, Servant Teams, and Internships provide a first look at WMF communities.
  • Step 2: Entry-Level Staff (2–3 years) Roles aligned with experience brought to the team allow new staff to serve alongside local leaders, learn the needs of the community, and practice advocacy and presence.
  • Step 3: Long-Term Staff (3+ years) Positions such as Community Administrator, Program Director, or Advocacy Coordinator invite deeper leadership and stewardship of WMF’s mission in community.

Explore our openings below. Each community may also have ongoing needs not listed here—roles in education, administration, communications, advocacy, or program support are often needed. If you don’t see a position that matches your skills, we still encourage you to reach out. If you are interested in learning more about staff needs in a specific field please send your resume and letter of interest to careers@wordmadeflesh.com specifying your location of interest.

Discerning and Integration

We believe calling is discovered in community. For this reason, we invite applicants to spend time with the local WMF community before a final hiring decision is made. Inquire for more information on this process.
