Februray 2007 Prayer Letter

“I will praise You with my whole heart; before the gods I will sing praises to You.” Psalm 138: 1 This year, Christmas came early… We are thrilled to announce that the beautiful baby girl we were expecting arrived on December 5. And we praise God that Amani Maria Daniela Forcatto was born healthy, weighing 7lbs. 6 oz. and measuring 18.9 inches. Her first name is the Swahili word for peace. She was also named after two very special people, my paternal grandmother Maria and our dear friend Danielle. While our little one month old is mostly busy sleeping and eating, she has already demonstrated her love for baths and following the sound of her parents voices with her eyes. Big sister Cora has done a wonderful job of adjusting to her new role. She is a great help and very understanding when Amani's needs must come first. Of course, she seeks out her mami and papi's attention a little more than usual. It's summer vacation now, so Cora is also missing the independence of going to preschool on her own. As a family we are all finding our new places in our family of four. As I reflect on the birth of my second daughter, I'm amazed at how easily and quickly one can fall in love. When I would think of what it would be like to have a second child, I often wondered how I could possibly love another as much as I love Cora. Then a good friend reminded me that love multiplies, it does not run out. During our travels to Sri Lanka last year, I had the joy of swimming in the Indian Ocean under the moonlight late one night. At the time Amani was just beginning to form in my womb. I remember thinking how beautiful it was to share that experience with her, knowing that as the waves gently held my body afloat, my growing child was dancing around in her own ocean within me. And my love for her began to grow. All I have And all I do Can not compare To the look of you You make me feel alive You are my highest high All I can do is smile… …When I look in my little girl's eyes -Lenny Kravitz Thank you for helping us to celebrate Amani's birth. Your emails, phone calls and packages have made us feel so loved. Love, Adriana
