March 2011 Prayer Letter

Hello!

Well, it’s been two months since you last heard from me, so you’ve probably been anxious to hear what’s new. (If you haven’t been, please don’t tell me.) In order to satisfy your curiosity, here are some of the things that have happened in the previous two months.

Year-end responsibilities have been successfully completed. This being my first time “closing the books” for WMF, I learned a lot about accounting practices. After working here for 8 months, I’ve been able to see where improvements within the department can be made and implement them. That has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my brief time here; putting my stamp on the organization.

The administration department had our annual planning retreat during the first week of February. The three of us had a very productive two days outlining what 2011 will look like, making goals, and preparing for changes that will be happening within the organization and the department.

I moved my desk! The administration department has relocated to the other side of our building. Leaving behind a desk near the front door and the (unintentional) part-time role of receptionist, my director Liz and I have moved upstairs to a much quieter location. Since we are working with numbers and detailed information, the new space is much more conducive for undisturbed concentration. (You know, so I don’t make an error while entering your donation. 😉

Prayer requests:

  • Please pray for the WMF Peru Field. About $15,000 worth of cash and other assets were stolen from their office in Lima on February 10th.
  • Pray for the WMF Bolivia Field as they are in the beginning stages of a bag-making business called Suti Sana that helps women leave the sex-industry.
  • Please continue to pray for me as I try to meet my fund-raising goals by May. (Currently 55% of the way to my goal of $2,000 in monthly commitments.)

I am truly blessed to have wonderful people in my life praying for me and supporting me financially. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this, and in doing so, becoming aware of what God is doing through Word Made Flesh. As always, I ask that you prayerfully consider supporting me and the work that God has called me to.

Many Blessings,

Jeff
