Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.  The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.”

Dear Friends,

Hello from Bolivia!!!  It has been a season of constant change within our community.  It is also an exciting time to see growth.

In March we celebrated the lives of 4 incredible ladies in Suti Sana.  We spent the day reflecting on the past two years since they started Suti Sana.  It was a beautiful day spent at Lake Titicaca.  We were blessed with an incredible day together.

In April we celebrated 6 months since 4 ladies started Suti Sana.  The ladies reflected on God’s faithfulness in bringing them to Suti Sana.  One of the ladies stated “I had always wanted someone to talk to me about Jesus.  I came to Suti Sana and I have been able to learn about Jesus”.  We rejoice that the good news is penetrating their hearts and giving them  hope.

This past week we were reflecting on the passage from John 4 where Jesus encounters a Samaritan woman.  There were a few observations that we made about this passage as we were envisioning hope for our friends:

  1. He promises springs of water welling up to eternal life (v. 13)
  2. She desires the water to quench her thirst (v. 15)
  3. Many people believed because of her testimony  (v.39)

We are witnesses to the eternal hope that Christ desires to give every person.  We continue to pray for Christ’s kingdom to come in El Alto in the red light district.  We pray that living waters would flow in the lives of our friends who have been affected by prostitution.

Please continue to pray for wisdom for our community as we envision the next few years here in El Alto.  We are making important decisions and adjusting a few things to be salt and light in El Alto.

Blessings,

Alicia Bunch
