Can I just say? I’m pretty excited.
Today our Canadian website went live, representing some significant work by friends of Word Made Flesh Canada. It’s funny to think that this place in the cloud represents so much work, and yet it’s been folks like Nathan and Daniel at Storyboard Solutions, Darian and Courtney at Love Global, members of our Board of Directors, and countless other friends and editors along the way who have contributed to making this happen.
What I love most about this platform is that it will provide an opportunity to share the evolving story of Word Made Flesh Canada with our friends and family right here in Canada. For so long, many of us have been wondering how we could participate in this amazing movement.
Now we’ve got a great place to start.
In the early days, we’ll be focusing on developing our Canadian expression and supporting work in both Kolkata, India and Lima, Peru.
Over the past number of months, I’ve had the chance to chat with our friends in both Kolkata and Lima, and I’m excited about how we can move forward together, growing in deeper relationship with these two communities. I’m also getting to know some wonderful men and women doing incredible work here in Vancouver, as I pay attention to ways in which God might be calling us to serve right here, in Vancouver.
I am encouraged to know that there are many others discerning similarly in their home communities spread across this vast land.er of months, I’ve had the chance to chat with our friends in both Kolkata and Lima, and I’m excited about how we can move forward together, growing in deeper relationship with these two communities. Over time, and as Word Made Flesh Canada gains more support, we’ll look to expand our reach and our relationships with other WMF communities throughout the world.
For now, however, our relationships at home, and with these two communities seem a very good place to start.
In conversation with so many friends of our international community, I continue to sense that God is doing something incredible and powerful in our movement both here and around the world.
Poke around the website. Check out our volunteer opportunities. Look at the ways in which you might give, serve or spread the word in your hometown, or amongst friends and family. If there’s anything I can do to help, let me know. And so on this inaugural blog post, I’d love to invite you to participate.
Most of all, I’m glad that we’re in this together. I’m glad that there are likeminded men and women committing themselves to bear witness to hope amongst the most vulnerable of the world’s poor. And I rejoice, excited about the ways in which God’s power working in us can do more than we could ever ask or imagine.
