Dear friends,
It has been such a joy to partner with you in this ministry. As it has been two months since my last prayer letter, I would like to tell you a few things about what has happened. But before I do that I have to stop and thank you again for having prayed for me, for us, for the kids. God does answer our prayers in His timing – the PERFECT timing.
I have experienced a fresh touch from the Lord this summer through all the activities we had at the Community Center. I have seen Him working in the kids I serve among. I have seen a glimpse of what God’s Kingdom means. It is a Kingdom that belongs to people like my little friends “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Mark 10:14)
As a community we are very thankful that we could go to camp as we have in the past years. In the freshness of the mountains we had the opportunity to just be a big family. We ate, played, exercised, studied, painted, rode horses, did archery, got some well deserved rest, sang and loved one another. For some of the little kids this was their very first trip ever out of Galati. Take this girl, G. she became so anxious about leaving her mom that she decided not to go to camp the morning we left. At the end of the week, I was telling her all about what she had missed, hoping she would be motivated to go next year. When I got to the part where the little kids rode a pony, she got so interested and asked: was the pony pink? It is not uncommon for some of the kids to think that ponies are pink because all they know about ponies comes from the Barbie dolls stories. It’s not uncommon for them to think cows are purple because that’s what cows look like in the commercials for Milka chocolate. Having lived all their lives in the neighborhood our center is places, some of our little friends here have never seen a real life sheep.
Apart from the funny side of these stories, the summer camp was a great opportunity both for the kids and for us to learn more about Jesus and about what it means to follow Him.
God has provided for us and we received all the resources we needed from you, my dear friends. This way all the children were able to go to camp. Different companies and people like you showed us that they cared and we are so grateful for that.
We are also grateful for receiving the resources needed for August and September. We recently welcomed 13 new kids at the center and that of course raises the expenses. We currently spend $200 per month to support one child (food, clothing and school supplies).
Under the program ASSOCLIC, our organization applied for the project to get computers for our community center. Following requests we received 9 PCs. It is important to note that these computers are refurbished by people with disabilities.
Word Made Flesh International fasts and prays every on the 1st and the 15th of every month. We invite you to join us in fasting and prayer for specific prayer requests that you can read here.
As for Word Made Flesh Romania, please pray that:
– We would experience God’s presence among us;
– We would receive the finances needed to serve among our little friends;
– We would obtain the grants offered by the Government in 2013;
– We would obtain accreditation on social service for the Community Centre in Tudor Vladimirescu;
– We would all experience healing in our ministry.
Blessings!
