September 2011
Dear Friends,
I just have a few prayer requests this month. This is another of those “in between” times where I’m writing before camp, but you’ll get this letter after it has taken place. Camp reports will have to wait.
During the first week of September a few of us male workers will be going on a campout with some of the teen boys. Our hope is for this to be a “rite of passage” of sorts. We also hope it will be a time of continuing to build relationships amongst us guys. Florin and I will be participating along with two other adults and six or seven other teens. Please pray for this time.
The first day of school falls on the 12th of September this year. Please pray for the children as they begin a new year. Pray especially for the children entering 5th grade (this is the grade in which the kids switch from having one teacher to a different teacher for each subject – a big change) and for those entering high school (another big change).
It will also be sometime during this month when we decide which and how many new children to receive at the center. Last year we took in twelve new kids to start the year. Nearly all of them are still with us, in large part thanks to your prayers. Pray for wisdom as we invite more children. Pray that each of their transitions into the community will go well.
Love,
Paul and Ana
