With Love

Dear friends,
As most of you know, I have worked with Word Made Flesh for twelve years: six years in Romania and another six in Moldova. It’s amazing how time flies and as I look back I realize how wonderfully God has cared for all my needs over the years. He picked me up when I was down, He comforted me when I was grieving, He encouraged me when I felt hopeless. I am grateful to Him for where He has brought me and what I have become.

There were difficult moments and happy times, pain, tears and joys, both ups and downs and miracles that I saw with my own eyes. Just as He promised me from the beginning, He has been with me. And there have been people sustaining me in this work up until now in various ways. I want to thank all of you who have been involved, one way or another, in this ministry and come alongside me during the good and the bad times.

Lately, God has put on my heart to spend more time with the mothers of the children who come to our Community Center.  It’s encouraging, even if painful, to hear them say, “I need someone to talk to, I am so burdened, but I don’t have anyone to talk with.”  I am encouraged because they have begun to open up and name their need to be listened to. I have already invited some mothers to my home to get to know them better and just to listen and would appreciate your prayers that I will be God’s hands, mouth and heart for them.

In any type of ministry, there are barriers and trials and I want to let you know about an unpleasant situation concerning finances.  It’s not easy for me to write about this, but I trust I will be understood and I dare to share with you the need.

My support account, for some time now, has been below zero because the majority of individuals who supported me financially have withdrawn support due to their own financial challenges. This has led to an increasing debt and made month to month expenses difficult, even impossible, for me to cover. I would be so grateful if you could pray for this situation, that God will open people’s hearts to give. I particularly need monthly donations that will provide longer term financial sustainability. This situation needs to be resolved in a month’s time or else I will have to go on leave without pay, which is not desirable.  I don’t want to discontinue this ministry due to financial reasons.

Each month I need $430.  My monthly expenses include water, electricity, gas bills, as well as telephone, internet, transportation, food, personal items, visits to the doctor, household goods, meals for guests, parents and children from the Community Center, etc.

With love,
Magdalena
