a camping we will go

I’m just back in Moldova from my trip across the Atlantic. First and foremost I want to give a shout out to all my friends at Byfield Parish.  I am so sorry that I did not get to see you this summer!  I was planning to visit on the first Sunday in July, but that turned out to be July 4th – not a great day for a loaf ‘n ladle.   So please keep in touch and let me know how I can keep praying for you all.

Tomorrow morning Magda, Adriana and I will be taking a public bus to somewhere outside the city. A partner organization is hosting a youth camp for 40 teenagers to which we are also invited as guests/volunteers.  I’m  feeling ready for camping, paddling in a canoe and singing round a campfire. But not feeling ready to meet 60 new people!  At the moment, I’m still missing the people I just left on the other side of the ocean.

This will be a great opportunity to get to know some Moldovan youth and recruit volunteers for our ministry with children in state boarding schools.
Pray for our health and safety at camp.  This is tent camping, and the accommodations are primitive.
Pray for life change in the lives of these young people. Pray for God to give them hope and vision for their future and the future of Moldova.
Pray for me, Magda, Adriana and John (who will join us later) to be fully present and loving to those God brings into our path this week.
Camp is August 4-10.
In Him,
rachel simons
