Bluegrass Gala 2018

We had a fabulous gala celebration Nov. 2 in Lexington, KY at The Heartwood event venue space (donated by one of our board members). We labeled the gala as Bluegrass Gala and utilized the phrase — “locally rooted, neighboring worldwide.”  (We feel that this small phrase offers a wonderful, blessed, quick view into who we are and what we do worldwide.  The phrase communicates breadth and depth – akin to the phrase of pastor and theologian John Wesley, “the world is my parish.”)

In an amazing show of support, artists from around the country who we have come to know and who love the work of  WMF contributed beautiful original works of art for our silent auction.

God graced us with being able to fill the room with friends of WMF who love and support the work of WMF around the world.  People heard about our communities, prayed for our communities, and gave financially to continue to sustain the work that is happening!

This was our first effort hosting a gala.  We find it to have been an excellent first experience and we’re excited to have decided upon realizable new ideas to implement as we are already planning for our 2019 Gala.
