Greeting in Jesus’ name!
As you can see from the pics, the month of May found us celebrating 3 birthdays and Mother’s Day, complete with a very special ballet performance organized by Natalia’s pre school. Natalia’s birthday party was Backyardigans themed; we had a great time on the roof mixing it up with party games and a limbo line. Isabel was a finalist; not surprisingly Brian was not, but kept on getting back in line anyway to be further humiliated and draw laughs from the girls. Isabel invited a few girls from school over for a baked potato bar and movie night for her birthday party. We are so thankful to God for our girls and how they are growing up into the knowledge of God’s love for them. Please continue to pray for them individually, and together as sisters.
As mentioned in last month’s letter, we purchased our airline tickets early to take advantage of low fares. We want to formally thank many of you for responding to our request for extra gifts to reimburse our airline ticket purchase, and at the same time to continue to make our situation known to all of you. Our support account was drained down to $45 upon receiving our salary at the end of April due to the ticket cost; to date we still have not recovered fully from this purchase and ask you to pray about continuing to respond to this need. Thank you, in advance, for helping to meet our families needs.
As far as the ministry goes, at the writing of this letter we still do not have our demolition license but we are getting closer. This has been a VERY tedious process for us, already slow because of the inefficient beaurocracy and made more difficult due to our need to change general contractors. The new contractor is doing an excellent job in charge of the demolition paperwork, and we are planning on continuing to work together with him for all subsequent ministry center projects. We hope to have the demolition finished and remaining first floor repairs completed by later this year; we aren’t going to move ahead yet with construction plans for the new rooms due to lack of funds. Remember our building campaign efforts as God leads you!
The staff of WMF Peru are really starting to work well together! We give thanks to God for that, and recognize that this is something that God has accomplished. We have noticed that our team communication has improved, and also that when there are issues and problems that need to be discussed, people seek out the appropriate person(s) with whom to talk. We have also noticed an increasing respect for our different cultural backgrounds. As you can imagine, cross cultural teams are no easy task, and full time ministry can be very stressful. Give thanks together with us for these signs of a healthy community!
Thank you for everything that you do for us, for showing us your love in the small details, in helping us with our needs, and in bringing our family before God in prayer in the times that only God can see.
Love,
The Langleys
